The Central Bank of Montenegro reported that Governor Irena Radovic visited the Central Bank of Luxembourg and met Governor Gaston Reinesch to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, with a focus on financial system supervision, digitisation and building central bank institutional capacity. The meeting also covered current global economic and financial trends and the operational challenges facing central banks. Radovic highlighted the value of cooperation with the Central Bank of Luxembourg as a member of the European System of Central Banks, given the Central Bank of Montenegro’s preparations for future ESCB membership, and noted shared vulnerabilities of small, open economies to external shocks and the need for strong institutions and resilient financial infrastructure. Both governors signalled readiness for continued cooperation and mutual support in reform processes and efforts to strengthen financial system resilience. Radovic’s visit coincided with her participation in the IMF and World Bank Constituency annual meeting in Luxembourg, scheduled for 2 to 4 July 2025.
