Thailand’s Office of Insurance Commission conducted an on-site visit in Songkhla and convened insurers to track flooding impacts and align urgent measures aimed at speeding up indemnity payments and improving assistance for affected policyholders. Actions discussed included accelerating claims settlement, increasing proactive damage assessment teams, producing daily progress updates, and temporarily easing certain documentation submissions or procedural steps to make it easier for claimants to access benefits. The Secretary-General instructed OIC Region 9 (Songkhla) to coordinate closely with insurers and relevant agencies, and ordered the establishment of local insurance service points while officials met affected residents and businesses to gather issues related to claims and provide guidance on policy entitlements.
