The National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine has opened its first investigations based on official requests from foreign financial regulators under the International Organization of Securities Commissions Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding, known as the IOSCO MMoU. The cases began several weeks after Ukraine joined the information-sharing framework following nearly 10 years of preparation. One request seeks checks on an individual and a related company, including previous investigations and compliance with business reputation and professional suitability requirements. The other concerns whether a Ukrainian company holds commission licenses or permits and whether it is connected to specified companies and individuals. Separate investigations have been assigned to commission specialists, while the countries, entities and individuals involved remain confidential under the IOSCO MMoU.
