The Bank of the Lao and the Bank of Korea jointly held a seminar to present the results of the 2025 Bank of Korea Knowledge Partnership Programme (BOK-KPP), focusing on “The Development of Financial Literacy to Promote Economic Stability in Lao PDR”. The half-day event in Vientiane brought together Bank of Korea experts and researchers from South Korean universities, the Bank of the Lao’s research team, and 35 participants from Lao public-sector and financial-market bodies including the Ministry of Education and Sports, banking and non-bank financial institution supervisors, the securities regulator and the Lao Securities Exchange, as well as commercial banks, cooperatives and microfinance institutions. Discussions covered Lao PDR’s economic and financial market conditions, current financial literacy initiatives, how financial literacy supports economic stability, and forward strategy linked to the government’s 10th socio-economic development plan.
