The Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency of Türkiye issued a circular clarifying that claims investigators may examine only insurance abuse and suspicious claims. The clarification follows the July 23, 2026 amendment that comprehensively regulated claims investigation activities to support efforts against insurance fraud. Claims investigators may not determine the amount, causes or characteristics of losses resulting from insured risks. Those functions, along with agreed valuations, preliminary appraisals and loss monitoring, remain reserved for insurance adjusters under the Insurance Law.
