The Bank of Greece reported that the weighted average interest rate on new euro-denominated loans remained unchanged at 4.65% in June 2026, while the rate on new deposits was almost unchanged at 0.36%. The spread between new loan and deposit rates was broadly stable at 4.29 percentage points. For outstanding amounts, the deposit rate remained nearly unchanged at 0.35%, but the loan rate rose by 11 basis points to 4.74%, widening the spread to 4.39 percentage points. Among new lending, floating-rate housing loans rose by 6 basis points to 3.56% and loans to small and medium-sized enterprises increased by 8 basis points to 4.51%. Consumer loan rates declined, including a 14-basis-point fall to 14.49% for loans without a defined maturity. For outstanding lending, rates increased for housing, consumer, corporate and sole proprietor loans, with corporate loans of more than five years rising by 17 basis points to 4.31%.
