The Italian Institute for Insurance Supervision (IVASS) has ordered the blocking of five websites for unlawfully offering insurance services. The sites are www.agenziadeimille.it, www.agenziacallegaro.it, agenti.assibrokertorino.it, www.assi.lombardiassicurazioni.eu and assi.lombardiassicurazioni.eu, and www.futurassicura.com and futurassicura.com. The blocking is being carried out by internet service providers operating in Italy and may take a few days for technical reasons. IVASS reported that the total number of abusive sites blocked since the start of its blocking powers in November 2023 has reached 328, and warned consumers to be cautious about policy offers made via instant messaging services such as WhatsApp or text messages, payment requests using prepaid credit cards, and websites not included in IVASS’s official lists of authorised intermediaries and supervised insurance undertakings.
