The Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam, in collaboration with the British High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan, held a two-day workshop to strengthen sustainable finance expertise among financial institutions and public sector stakeholders. The initiative advances the knowledge, skills and talent development pillar of the Brunei Darussalam Sustainable Finance Roadmap, launched in 2025 to guide the financial sector’s response to sustainability-related risks and support climate adaptation and mitigation. The workshop focused on incorporating sustainability considerations into institutional policies, regulatory and supervisory practices, and wider financial sector activities. Participants examined climate and environmental risks, sustainability reporting and disclosures, sustainable finance instruments, market practices and the evolving policy landscape, while discussing practical challenges in supporting credible transition pathways in Brunei Darussalam.
