The Bank of Tanzania, through the National Council for Financial Inclusion, has opened applications for the Tanzania Financial Inclusion Awards 2025, recognising individuals and organisations that have advanced financial inclusion by expanding financial services to unserved and underserved communities. Submissions are accepted from 4 July to 31 July 2025 and will be assessed based on activity delivered between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025. The awards span banking, microfinance, capital markets, insurance and social security, and also invite non-governmental organisations and non-financial corporates from sectors including manufacturing, tourism, transportation, wholesale and trading, agriculture, communications and information, and sports and games. Coverage areas include disproportionately excluded segments, fintech innovations, financial literacy and consumer complaint resolution, research and advocacy, and policy and regulatory innovations, with categories for women, youth, people with disabilities, MSME financing, rural inclusion, inclusive financial technology, inclusive sustainable financing, complaints resolution, financial literacy and a special recognition award; evaluation will be conducted by an Awards Committee and Jury focusing on scale, impact and innovation. Applications are to be submitted via the online form, with detailed award criteria published on the Bank of Tanzania website, by the 31 July 2025 deadline.
