The Financial Superintendence of Colombia held a training session for 68 newly appointed compliance officers at supervised entities to strengthen their understanding of systems for managing money laundering and terrorist financing risk in the financial system. Led by the supervisor's delegation for these risks, the session updated participants on supervisory guidance for prevention and shared tools to improve firms' risk management. The program covered the Financial Superintendence of Colombia's supervisory work, monitoring of Sarlaft, oversight of corporate governance in the management of money laundering and terrorist financing risk, and the reports that obligated entities submit to the Financial Information and Analysis Unit. In the monitoring segment, the training focused on information quality, alert management, decision-making and continuous improvement of risk management systems. The Financial Information and Analysis Unit also outlined the role of reporting within Colombia's national anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing framework, and the session reviewed the scope of the Financial Action Task Force's fifth round of mutual evaluations.
