The Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Banque de France’s Institut d’Émission des Départements d’Outre-Mer (IEDOM), formalising collaboration to better analyse the cross-border dynamics of the Sint Maarten–Saint Martin economy. The MoU focuses on improving the accuracy and timeliness of data collection on key indicators linked to the island’s integration, including tourism arrivals and room inventory. The enhanced cooperation is intended to strengthen CBCS’s economic analysis and forecasting to support better-informed projections and monetary policy decisions, and it also establishes a framework for joint research on issues relevant to the tourism-intensive island and wider central banking topics. The agreement was signed by CBCS President Richard Doornbosch and IEDOM President Ivan Odannat at the CBCS Sint Maarten office.
