The Central Bank of Uruguay held the “Central para Vos” event under its BCUEduca Economic and Financial Education Programme, welcoming third-year upper secondary students from high schools and UTU to strengthen understanding of the Bank’s role in the national economy and promote more informed and responsible financial decision-making. Students took part in five facilitated, game-based activities covering the role of different economic agents and the Central Bank, credit use and debt management, market equilibrium pricing, purchasing power and price stability including money in circulation, and banknote security features. The event opened with remarks from President Guillermo Tolosa and Director Julio Luis Sanguinetti and included a question-and-answer session with the Board, where the authorities emphasised that central bank credibility is key to maintaining stability and confidence in monetary policy.
