The Central Bank of Ecuador reported that the Economic Expectations Index rose 3 points from June to 56.2 in July 2026, marking its sixth consecutive month above the 50-point threshold for higher business confidence. All four sectors surveyed exceeded the threshold. Services recorded the highest reading at 60, up 4.5 points, supported mainly by tourism activity. Commerce returned to higher-confidence territory at 53.7, while construction remained above the threshold at 53.1 despite a 4.4-point monthly decline. Manufacturing increased 1.5 points to 51.8. The index reflects the views of executives at more than 1,700 companies on current conditions and prospects.
