The executive branch has proposed Marco Aurelio González Maldonado as a new full member of the Central Bank of Paraguay's board. The nomination will now go to the National Congress for approval, and, if confirmed, he would take office on August 15, 2025. González has worked at the Central Bank of Paraguay for 25 years and previously served as director of the Legal Affairs Department, director of the Judicial Affairs Department, manager of the legal unit and director of the bank's institute. He currently serves as Procurator General of the Republic and is also vice dean of the law faculty at the National University of Asunción, where he teaches administrative law and legal ethics.
