The Bank of Greece published its cash-basis figures for Greece’s central government net borrowing requirement, reporting a cash balance surplus of EUR 1,904 million in January 2026, up from a EUR 560 million surplus in January 2025. Ordinary budget revenue totalled EUR 5,387 million versus EUR 5,698 million a year earlier, while ordinary budget expenditure fell to EUR 4,064 million from EUR 5,488 million in January 2025.

The Bank of Greece reported a cash balance surplus of EUR 1,904 million for the central government's net borrowing requirement in January 2026, compared to EUR 560 million in January 2025.
