The Bank of Italy has published its twice-yearly International Technical Cooperation Newsletter, reporting that more than 750 experts from 61 central banks participated in 49 activities during the first half of 2026. Cooperation focused on artificial intelligence, supervisory technology, operational resilience, the digital euro, payments and market infrastructures. The activities included seminars, webinars, consultations, study visits and missions, with several conducted through European Union-funded European System of Central Banks programs supporting central banks in the Western Balkans and Africa. The newsletter also sets out a 2026-27 program covering central bank management, climate risk and sustainable finance, consumer protection, crypto-assets, cash circulation, cybersecurity and the adoption of artificial intelligence.
