The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan has launched a new actuarial online course on the skills.enbek.kz platform titled “Insurance organizations and pension funds: financing and investing” (Course 6, Part B). The release forms part of the minimum mandatory programme for training actuaries in Kazakhstan, which is being built as a full cycle of ten online courses. Content focuses on state regulation and financial reporting in the insurance sector, including preparation and analysis of insurers’ financial statements, use of early warning indicators, financial planning taking account of the balance between assets and liabilities, risk-based capital requirements, International Financial Reporting Standards, the principles and practice of risk-based supervision, and the role of actuaries in prudential regulation. Previously launched courses on the platform include “Interest rates and the theory of stochastic processes in life insurance” (Course 1), “Actuarial principles and their copies” (Course 2) and “Life and health insurance” (Course 4, Part B); across these three courses, 187 learners registered and eight certificates were issued.
