The Dominican Republic’s Pensions Superintendency (SIPEN) awarded Alpha Puesto de Bolsa its “Here We Know About Pensions” seal after 91% of employees demonstrated knowledge of the Dominican Pension System, including its operation, benefits and member rights. The certification continues SIPEN’s pension literacy initiative among employers and extends its engagement with securities firms that participate in the pension investment ecosystem. Employees also received information on complementary pension plans and their role in retirement savings. SIPEN encouraged employers making additional contributions for staff to use complementary pension accounts available through pension fund administrators. Employers and employees may contribute to the same account without a tax burden, while early withdrawals are permitted to purchase a first home, finance children’s education or cover health expenses.
