The Central Bank of Cyprus published Monetary Financial Institutions (MFI) deposit and loan statistics for April 2025, showing a net increase in total deposits of EUR 492.9 million and a net increase in global loans of EUR 169.1 million. Total deposits rose to EUR 56.1 billion, with the annual growth rate increasing to 7.6%, while total loans reached EUR 25.6 billion and the annual growth rate rose to 4.9%. Deposits of Cypriot residents increased by EUR 410.5 million, including rises of EUR 172.2 million in household deposits and EUR 173.1 million in deposits of non-financial corporations, while other domestic sectors recorded a EUR 65.2 million increase. Loans to Cypriot residents increased by EUR 13.0 million, reflecting a EUR 27.7 million rise in household loans and a EUR 12.8 million decline in loans to non-financial corporations, alongside a EUR 1.9 million decrease in other domestic sectors. Net increases and decreases are reported as transactions and exclude changes from reclassifications, exchange rates and other adjustments.
