The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission announced that its Advanced Insurance Institute held an orientation for participants in the 14th advanced insurance programme from June 26 to 28, 2026, in Hua Hin and Cha-am. The programme was designed to prepare participants before formal study begins, with a focus on basic knowledge of the insurance system, the Office of Insurance Commission’s role and mandate, networking among participants, guidance on group project work and public-interest activities. Secretary-General Chuchat Pramulphon opened the orientation and delivered a lecture on the Office of Insurance Commission’s supervisory approach and the role of insurance in Thailand’s risk management framework. He framed insurance as a national risk buffer and said the programme is intended not only to build insurance knowledge but also to develop a cross-sector leadership network able to integrate economic, social, technological and environmental risk perspectives. Additional sessions covered insurance principles and law, preparation of the group study report and a public-benefit activity involving the release of aquatic animals to promote social and environmental responsibility. The orientation marks the start of the cohort’s interdisciplinary study programme, which will address topics including the use of insurance as a national risk management tool, stronger protection of insurance rights and benefits, development of insurance products and services suited to changing social conditions and support for economic and social sustainability.
