The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan supported the holding of the Azerbaijan Financial Forum, organised by a group of financial industry associations, positioning it as a public-private platform to discuss developments and challenges in the country’s financial sector. Deputy Chairman Toghrul Aliyev used the opening remarks to link the Bank’s ongoing initiatives under the 2024–2026 Financial Sector Development Strategy to the formation of an innovative ecosystem in the sector. In further interventions, Director General Fuad Isayev pointed to the Bank’s focus on strengthening the long-term sustainability of the financial sector. Department Director Khayyam Ismayilov highlighted the importance of reforms to the regulation of non-bank credit organisations, citing their role in expanding access to finance for households and small businesses, while the forum’s stated objectives included strengthening financial intermediation and inclusion, accelerating digitalisation through innovative technologies, and improving financial-sector legislation and regulation.
