The National Bank of Georgia reported that Governor Natia Turnava and Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili met Matteo Patrone, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Vice President for Banking for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, on the sidelines of the EBRD’s 34th Annual Meeting, with the discussion focused on sustaining close cooperation between Georgia’s financial sector and the EBRD. Turnava briefed the EBRD delegation on developments in the Georgian banking sector, describing it as dynamic and transparent and therefore attractive to investors and international financial institutions. She noted that the EBRD has contributed USD 566 million to Georgia’s financial system and said the authorities expect cooperation to continue at a similar pace.
