The Angola Capital Markets Commission reported that its Chairman, Elmer Serrão, and Executive Director, Vasco Januário, participated on 29 September 2025 in the conference “50 Years of Insurance in Angola – Portraits, Impacts and Challenges”, organised by the Angolan Insurance Regulatory and Supervisory Agency (ARSEG) in Luanda. The event convened regulators, insurance sector operators, experts and institutional partners to review the trajectory, challenges and future outlook for Angola’s insurance and pension funds sectors. The programme included the presentation of the publication “50 Years of Independence, 50 Largest Claims – Portraits of Insurance and its Economic and Social Impact in Angola”, a roundtable on sector development, and the release of the 2024 Insurance and Pension Funds Market Report. The Commission positioned its participation as supporting institutional cooperation and strengthening synergies between insurance and capital markets, including promoting savings and investment, developing investment instruments and enhancing investor and policyholder protection.
