Chile's Financial Market Commission (CMF) has warned the public about three loan-offering applications it says are not regulated by the CMF and are offering predatory loans, and it has filed a criminal complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office against those responsible for the apps for alleged usury. The applications identified are APP LUCADINERO, APP NEXCASH, and APP LUKA RAPIDA, which are available for download on Google Play and other websites. The CMF also pointed users to its website Fraud Alerts Page, where investors, policyholders, and banking customers can check whether a person or entity is supervised by the CMF and review alerts on unregulated entities or activities issued by the CMF and other foreign regulators.
