The Albania Financial Services Authority has introduced Saimir Tola as the new Chair of its Board, following approval of his appointment by the Parliament of Albania. The appointment completes the Authority’s Board as its highest governing and decision-making body. Mr Tola was presented at the Authority by Eduard Shalsi, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance, with the appointment approved under Parliament decision No. 9/2025 dated 17 February 2025. Mr Shalsi linked the Board’s completion to further strengthening the Authority’s independence and its supervisory and regulatory functions over non-bank financial markets. The Authority’s Executive General Director, Mimoza Kaçi, highlighted continued cooperation with the Committee and close work with the Board, including efforts to align the legal framework and standards with European and international best practices, while Mr Tola emphasised reinforcing the Authority’s supervisory role and supporting greater trust in the markets under its oversight.
