CDP announced that it will separate into two organizations: CDP, a commercial entity backed by Permira that will continue providing environmental data and disclosure services to companies worldwide, and CDP Foundation, a charitable organization that will set the strategic principles for disclosure based on the latest environmental science. The foundation will remain a shareholder in CDP and keep board representation. The new structure separates science-setting from product and service delivery. CDP Foundation will translate frontier science into action-ready disclosure methods and inform the evolution of CDP’s question bank, while the commercial CDP will focus on operating the disclosure system and increasing investment in technology, data services and insights for corporates, financial institutions and other data users. Permira will support the strategic transformation with additional investment in people, technology and product development. CDP said its products, services and the 2026 disclosure cycle will continue as planned during the transition. Completion is subject to regulatory approvals, including from the Charity Commission, and other closing conditions, with completion anticipated within the next six months.
