The National Bank of Denmark reported that the average interest rate, including administration fees, on Danish households’ total housing debt at banks and mortgage credit institutions increased by 0.11 percentage points in 2026 to 3.52%. The figures cover the weighted effective interest rate on all housing loans to employees, pensioners and other individuals resident in Denmark. The impact varied by loan type. July interest rate resets reduced rates for some adjustable-rate mortgages, including F3 loans, but increased them for loans with short interest fixation periods and F5 loans. The average rate on bank housing debt fell by 0.02 percentage points in July, while previously announced mortgage administration fee reductions at Totalkredit and Nordea Kredit took effect for existing loans that month.
