The Central Bank of San Marino highlighted remarks by its Managing Director, Andrea Vivoli, at the conference “Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Education: Italy and San Marino - Experiences and Best Practices in Line with European and International Standards”, which examined evolving anti-money laundering (AML) challenges and opportunities for closer regulatory and operational cooperation between Italy and San Marino. At the event, hosted on 20 March 2025 by the Secretariat of State for Finance and Budget in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in San Marino, discussions focused on the need to keep supervisory measures up to date and to strengthen alignment with European and international standards. Vivoli spoke in the opening session and joined a panel with representatives from the Bank of Italy and the Guardia di Finanza, covering the Central Bank’s role in an integrated AML control framework, as well as crypto-assets and financial education, including risks linked to the growing use of crypto-assets and the regulatory strategies used to mitigate them.
