The Reserve Bank of India has directed Authorised Dealer Category I banks to file two existing monthly foreign exchange statements through its Centralized Information Management System rather than sending them to designated RBI offices. The change covers the consolidated monthly list of branch offices, liaison offices and project offices opened and closed by banks, and the monthly statement on the number of applicants and total amount remitted from Non-Resident Ordinary Rupee accounts. The branch office, liaison office and project office statement must be uploaded on CIMS under return code R343 with effect from June 30, 2026, starting with the month ending June 2026. Banks must submit a NIL report where no data is to be furnished. The Non-Resident Ordinary Rupee account remittance statement has been assigned return code R006 on CIMS. RBI also said it will update the Master Direction on Reporting under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 to reflect these reporting changes.
