The Palestine Capital Market Authority, in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation and Ernst & Young, presented a study on the prospects for index-based agricultural insurance in Palestine and sought stakeholder feedback on a potential market model. The initiative aims to develop insurance products that help farmers manage losses arising from climate change, natural disasters, pests, diseases and market volatility. Feedback from government bodies, insurers, agricultural organizations, cooperatives and partner institutions will inform the study’s final recommendations. The proposed model will be tailored to Palestinian market conditions, with a focus on technical, financial and institutional sustainability.
