The State Bank of Vietnam published a personnel decision appointing Bui Huu Toan as Director of the Banking Academy (HVNH), effective from 15 April 2026, for a five-year term. Under Decision No. 688 dated 10 April 2026, Bui Huu Toan, the Party Secretary and former Chairman of the Academy Council, takes up the director role. At the appointment conference, Governor Pham Duc An set priorities for the Academy including maintaining its role as the banking sector’s specialist training institution, supplying high-quality human resources, reviewing and improving its organisational model, strengthening links with commercial banks to better connect learning with practice, and reinforcing substantive scientific research to support policy advice and review. The new director highlighted plans to refresh training programmes around theory and practice, deepen cooperation with commercial banks, strengthen applied research, and accelerate the use of modern technology and digital transformation in teaching and management.
