The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported that a Tajik government delegation, including the Bank’s chairman, met IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on the margins of the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Washington to discuss Tajikistan’s economic policy agenda and future IMF engagement. Discussions covered implementation of the Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI), options to increase financial support through IMF mechanisms, and capacity building for public-sector specialists. The meeting also highlighted strengthening human capital through IMF training opportunities for young professionals, alongside attention to digital technologies and modern financial system management. Georgieva characterised cooperation with Tajikistan positively and indicated the IMF’s readiness to continue supporting economic reforms and sustainable socio-economic development. Both sides stated that Tajikistan and the IMF would further expand their cooperation.
