The Central Bank of Taiwan published its monthly update on official foreign exchange reserves, reporting reserves of USD 597.87 billion at the end of July 2025, down USD 563 million from the end of the previous month. The change in July was attributed to returns from foreign exchange reserves management and valuation effects from exchange rate movements of other reserve currencies against the US dollar. The Bank also noted that the market value of securities investment and New Taiwan dollar deposits held by foreign portfolio investors reached USD 952.9 billion at end-July, equivalent to 159% of foreign exchange reserves. The next release is scheduled for 16:20 on 5 September 2025.
