The National Bank of Moldova has put into circulation an MDL 100 silver commemorative coin in its Historical Events series, marking the period from Moldova’s declaration of independence on Aug. 27, 1991, to Aug. 27, 2026. The proof-quality coin has a limited mintage of 1,300. The coin is made of 999-fine silver, weighs 31.1 grams and measures 37 millimeters in diameter. Its reverse features the national flag, the two anniversary dates, text from the Declaration of Independence and musical notation from the national anthem.
