The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) published an update on the Y Champions awards ceremony, organised with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as part of efforts to promote non-banking financial awareness and strengthen young people’s ability to identify and avoid financial fraud. The competition is designed to encourage youth to produce educational content via social media and support safer engagement with non-banking financial activities. The FRA Chair and the Minister selected and honoured three Y Champions winners, alongside recognition of certified financial trainers operating through youth and youth development centres. The ministry reported seven “Certified Financial Trainer” courses delivered by 31 trainers, benefiting 2,914 young people, and linked the programme to the launch of non-banking financial awareness clubs across centres nationwide. FRA also referenced related measures, including allowing youth to invest in the securities market from age 15, adding educational content to primary school curricula, and developing youth-focused materials and digital products including the “I invest” platform and social media presence.
