The Central Bank of Libya said Gov. Naji Mohammed Issa participated in a closed meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee at International Monetary Fund headquarters in Washington during the 2026 Spring Meetings. Discussions covered recent global economic developments and challenges, as well as the outlook for economic growth over the short and medium term. The meeting also examined ways to strengthen global financial system stability and support multilateral cooperation in addressing geopolitical and structural risks affecting financial markets. The bank said the participation forms part of its ongoing monitoring of international economic and financial developments and its engagement with international financial institutions and policymakers to support its policies and Libya’s role in global financial forums.
