The Union of Arab Securities Authorities has published a notice that Dr Islam Azzam has been appointed chairman of the board of Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority under Presidential Decree No. 112 of 2026, noting that he chaired the Egyptian Exchange in the second half of 2025 and previously served as vice chairman of the authority from January 2021 to August 2025 with oversight of capital markets, insurance and non-banking financial activities.
