The Central Bank of Bahrain chaired the sixth meeting of the Preparatory Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council Central Bank Governors’ Committee, continuing regional coordination under Bahrain’s presidency of the GCC’s 46th session. The committee reviewed recommendations on payment systems, banking supervision and financial technology across GCC member states. Members also discussed mechanisms for sharing banking sector cybersecurity information and reviewed member states’ efforts to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. The agenda continues the preparatory committee’s work on priorities previously considered by GCC central bank governors.
