The State Bank of Vietnam said discussions with an Asian Development Bank delegation focused on broadening future cooperation in areas tied to Vietnam's financial sector modernization and wider development priorities. In the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh highlighted more than 30 years of cooperation with ADB and called for continued support on macroeconomic stability, green finance, digital transformation and access to ADB resources including concessional loans, technical assistance, co-financing and climate and sustainable development initiatives. The central bank also identified priority areas where it wants ADB to expand support, including the legal framework for fintech and digital banking, modern payment infrastructure, green finance, risk management capacity with a particular focus on climate risk, and workforce training for digital transformation and artificial intelligence. ADB's country group director, Dongil Kim, described Vietnam as an important regional partner and said ADB would continue supporting the government's development priorities through financial instruments and technical assistance suited to the country's next phase of development.
