The Securities and Exchange Commission of the Republic of North Macedonia announced the completion of the four-day Financial Regulation Training Program 2025, delivered in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Skopje from 18 to 21 November. The programme brought together experts, financial institutions, issuers and capital market participants to review current regulatory trends and European standards. The training covered specialised modules on CSDR, MiFID II and MAR, including the status and obligations of European central depositories, core MiFID II concepts, market infrastructure and operating rules, and requirements related to preventing market abuse and meeting issuer obligations. Content was supported by practical examples, analysis of critical implementation points and trainer-led discussions; in closing remarks, Chairman Bujaré Abazi highlighted capacity-building for market participants and pointed to implementation as central to delivering trust, transparency and accountability, while signalling continued support for securities market reforms, good practices and regional cooperation aligned with European integration and IOSCO principles and standards.
