The Central Bank of Egypt hosted a three-day technical visit by a cybersecurity team from the Bank of Tanzania to share Egypt’s financial-sector cybersecurity experience, with a particular focus on Egypt’s Financial Computing Incident Response Team (EG-FinCIRT), and to strengthen collaboration between the two countries’ incident response capabilities. The Tanzanian delegation responsible for the Financial Sector Computer Emergency Response Center (TZ-FinCERT) received a detailed overview of EG-FinCIRT’s activities and services, including incident response mechanisms for managing cyber threats. The programme also covered Egypt’s wider approach to sectoral cybersecurity oversight, including issuance of the first edition of the Financial Cybersecurity Framework, assessments of banks’ and financial institutions’ cyber readiness, and the inspection, audit and approval processes for digital solutions and FinTech applications prior to licensing and accreditation in the Egyptian market.
