The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission has issued updated guidance and an updated batch or bulk filing template for submitting beneficial ownership (BO) information, after identifying ongoing industry challenges in using the template that have contributed to slower progress and a high volume of rejected BO filings. The changes include template updates to address usability and formatting issues, expanded guidance on correcting rejected batch filings to support faster resubmissions and approvals, and streamlined rejection error message wording. The Commission has also developed step-by-step Register of Members (ROMs) and BO import procedures setting out column formats, character limits and validation rules, and it directs agents to use the new materials alongside the guidance previously issued in Industry Circular No. 33 of 2025. Separately, the Commission has extended the expiry period for filing links for Registers of Directors, ROMs and BOs, covering both single and bulk filings, to 31 March 2026. This aligns with the filing period ending 1 January 2026 and provides an additional three months of access to filing links, after which link access will revert to a standard 10-day download period.
