Egypt's Ministry of Finance called for stronger BRICS cooperation to mobilize private investment, close development financing gaps and expand emerging economies’ fiscal capacity. In remarks at the BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk urged the New Investment Platform and New Development Bank to broaden economic and financial cooperation and channel capital toward priority development sectors. The ministry advocated more flexible, lower-cost financing and stronger de-risking mechanisms, including public-private partnership models, to attract private capital into productive and development-oriented sectors. It also supported unified mechanisms for domestic revenue mobilization, a BRICS tax database and more efficient tax systems responsive to youth and entrepreneurship.
