The Central Bank of Venezuela has appointed Laura Carolina Guerra Angulo as its new president and confirmed a new board of directors, as set out in a decree published in the Extraordinary Official Gazette. Guerra previously led the Social Protection Fund for Bank Deposits (Fogade) and the National Development Fund (Fonden), and also headed the National Superintendency of Internal Audit (SUNAI). The new board includes Economy and Finance Minister Anabel Pereira Fernández as the National Executive’s representative, alongside directors Luis Alberto Pérez González, Christian Martell Ramírez, Carlos Cestari Infantini, Christiam Hernández Verdecanna and Santiago Armando Lazo Ortega.
