The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Secretariat sent a technical note to the Chair of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Technical Expert Group in response to EFRAG’s consultation on revised and simplified exposure drafts of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The Secretariat also plans to submit a formal response to EFRAG’s consultation questions via the online survey, drawing on the feedback set out in the note. TNFD is a taskforce of 40 business and finance leaders launched in 2021 with G20 support and provides recommendations and guidance on assessing, managing and reporting nature-related issues beyond climate. It reports that over 500 organisations representing more than USD 17 trillion in assets under management have committed to report aligned with TNFD recommendations published in September 2023, which build on the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures approach and align with Global Reporting Initiative impact standards, the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the International Sustainability Standards Board’s sustainability reporting standards.
