The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority has completed a training program for 30 Egypt Healthcare Authority officials, marking the first practical outcome of the agencies’ May memorandum of understanding. The initiative is intended to apply nonbank financial expertise and financial and insurance technology to healthcare management, including the universal health insurance system. Delivered by the Financial Services Institute, the program covered medical insurance claims, approvals and provider networks, chronic care management, underwriting, pricing, cost controls and fraud prevention. It also addressed the regulatory framework under the Unified Insurance Law No. 155 of 2024. The agencies plan to implement further elements of the memorandum and broaden cooperation on healthcare financing, insurance, investment products and technology.
