The People's Bank of China held a thematic lecture featuring Monetary Policy Committee member Huang Yiping on China’s current economic challenges and options for the policy mix, with Governor Pan Gongsheng attending. Huang’s presentation covered challenges and risks in China’s economic operations, shifts in growth trends and objectives, and macroeconomic policy choices and implementation paths, drawing on recent domestic and international academic research and observed policy effects. Following the lecture, Pan discussed with participants how to build a learning- and research-oriented central bank and how to coordinate multiple objectives in central bank macro control and financial management, in a session chaired by Deputy Governor Tao Ling and attended by the central bank’s resident disciplinary inspection head Qu Jishan, alongside officials from the Central Financial Commission Office and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
