The Angola Capital Markets Commission announced that it took part in the Financial Action Task Force’s first 2026 meeting in Lisbon, held under the enhanced monitoring process, where Angola presented progress on implementing its action plan with the International Co-operation Review Group to strengthen the national framework for preventing and combating money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing. The Commission was represented by the Director of the Office for Supervision of Strategic and Emerging Risks, Helena Cambinda, and attended the meeting from 6 to 9 January 2026 alongside regulatory and financial supervisory authorities from multiple jurisdictions as part of the ongoing ICRG review of monitored countries. Angola’s update covered implementation progress for September to December 2025, and the forum was used to follow relevant international standards, exchange strategies and good practices, and reinforce international cooperation mechanisms.
