The Bank of the Lao and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce held their third bilateral meeting to review joint work and agree priorities for closer coordination on enterprise, price and foreign exchange management. Building on technical discussions held in June, the authorities focused on linking the central bank’s foreign exchange flow management system with the ministry’s electronic business registration system to strengthen oversight and information sharing. The two sides also discussed monitoring displayed goods prices, promoting lawful use of the local currency and identifying priority and essential goods to support measures aimed at monetary and cost of living stability. They agreed to study foreign exchange management measures for multiple sectors and emerging business types under the current socioeconomic development plan.
