The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission has signed a memorandum of understanding with TikTok to promote financial literacy and raise public awareness of investment scams and fraud prevention through TikTok’s #ThinkTwice digital literacy campaign. Under the collaboration, the SEC and TikTok will co-create a series of #ThinkTwice videos covering common financial and investment scams, how to verify information sources, and practical steps to avoid fraudulent schemes. The first video will focus on Ponzi schemes, including how they work, typical scammer language, and measures viewers can take to protect themselves. Content will be distributed via TikTok’s social channels and #ThinkTwice Resource Hub, as well as the SEC’s official social media pages.
